SUMMARY: The Logistics Supervisor focuses on administering the primary business operation of Priority Dispatch, namely the coordination of transportation and delivery services for the company’s customers. The Logistics Supervisor also administers the delegation of services to, and coordination with, Independent Contractors, including ensuring for the customers that IC’s are held accountable for Statements of Work and EPOD. The Logistics Supervisor will further administer and develop appropriate budgets (including billing and costing, and IC income management), new customer-required routes, commissions, compliance, and requisitions, scanning and sorting operations, dispatch activity, routing and scheduling of cabinets, distribution of products, and customer-required verifications and records. The primary focus is to ensure superior customer service is achieved by ensuring high quality performance to include professional, consistent, efficient, secured and controlled critical deliveries. Remains vigilant about streamlining operating efficiency, error elimination/resolution and increased productivity; utilizes PDI methodology and tools. Continually cultivates belief and pride in the Mission, Vision, Value Proposition and the Delivery Event Management System. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include those identified in the Summary above, as well as the specifics in the following. Other duties may be assigned. • Maintains up to date routes/schedules using the costing spreadsheet. • Creates, plans and executes efficient routes and processes for delivery. • Ensures all routes, schedules are covered and assigns drivers to cabinet deliveries. • Income management for distribution, mixed fleets and stats. • Negotiate statements of work and documents commission adjustments. • Manages customer relationships. • Addresses Independent Contractor non-compliance. • Forecast Independent Contractor needs and inputting IC requests in the system • Completes service level reporting and updates client’s web portals. • Completes assigned billing activities and tracks and files all required paperwork. • Manage orders, including tracks assigned, pick-ups and deliveries to maximize productivity; using the appropriate service levels, vehicle requirements, mileage and weight. • Provides support for customers and IC’s who have problems with order entry, systems, equipment or applications. • Responsible for the oversight of sorting for distribution and non distribution of routes, schedules, and cabinet and pharmaceutical deliveries. • May train, motivate, and supervisor associates. • May have direct and/or recommendation authority relative to hiring, termination, advancement, promotion, demotion, transfer, re-classification, and appraisal of associates. • Ensures all key PDI processes are followed. • Complies with Associate Handbook policies and procedures, Master Operating Plan, and all Federal and State Laws. • Maintains high awareness and commitment to superior customer service. • Utilizes PDI process improvement methodology to document and improve business processes and eliminate waste and redundant steps, setting the standard for excellence in operating performance. • Keeps “top of mind” the personal responsibility for cost containment and contribution to Company profitability to ensure long term prosperity. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and SKILLS or ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor degree with a concentration in business or other relevant field. Three to five years managerial experience/background preferred. Must be able to interpret and use financial information. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance procedures. Transportation background experienced/background preferred. Extensive knowledge of regional roadways. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, and with use of computers. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Must be able to interact with peers and upper management. Customer service orientation a must. Tow motor experience is a plus (will provide training and certification). Demonstrated problem solving and organization skills are a must. Must be able to work independently and under time constraints.
