Position Summary: Monday through Friday Dispatch Manager position. Under the supervision of the Ground Transportation Manager the Dispatch Manager assigns vehicles and drivers for pick up and delivery of clients’ shipments according to factors such as driver availability, destination and expected delivery time. The Dispatcher Manager must know and have experience using Xcelerator software system (this is a must), the Dispatch Manager will also operate radios, computers and other communication equipment as required. Duties and Responsibilities: • Prioritizes incoming jobs and coordinated timely pickup, airport drops and delivery of customer shipments through proper driver and vehicle assignment. This Dispatcher utilizes efficient and cost effective use of available resources. • Supervision of other dispatchers and all drivers will be required • Scheduling drivers and other dispatch personnel • Dispatches jobs and communicates with drivers via phone, email or other electronic means. • Clearly communicates special pick up and delivery instructions or directions to drivers to ensure effective use of time along with client satisfaction. • Informs Ground Transportation manager of any problems affecting safety or well being of company and/or inability to perform designated tasks in a timely manner. • Monitors location and activity of all drivers. • Directs pick ups and drop offs at airports throughout the US. • Cross trained to perform customer solutions consultant duties within the department. • Participates in department meetings. • Communicates to manager any logistic situation (i.e. traffic, construction, public event) that impacts driver pick up or deliver time, so that CSCs can adjust time allocations on customer orders as needed. • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Skills/Abilities: • Experience in using Xcelerator Dispatch software is a must and required • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Excellent customer service skills • Well developed interpersonal skills; ability to work well with others. • Strong knowledge of US geography including all major markets. • Intermediate to advanced computer navigation skills; proficient in MS Word, Excel and other computer programs. • Must be able to quickly learn and work in multiple computer programs. • Fluent English language skills • Strong interpersonal skills/highly organized.Photos :
