Express Courier has immediate opening at corporate office in Franklin, TN. GENERAL SUMMARY: Responsible for the overall management of the company’s regulatory, compliance and owner operator programs; serves as legal liaison with Express / Riverside Management and outside counsel. Responsibility for the design and build-out of the web-based portal for owner-operators. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: • Develops recruiting and education programs designed to ensure proper driver staffing and skill set to meet customer expectations. • Maintains company records in accordance with state, federal and company requirements. • Develops and performs compliance audits to ensure that all customer contractual requirements, state / federal regulations and company expectations are adhered to. • Supports legal with document retrieval, field research, and investigative analysis. • Manage compliance and reduce the risk of penalties, legal action or damage to the company. • Educate members of the organization of the regulations that apply and the risks of noncompliance. The director should create policies that describe procedures and appropriate behaviors to maintain compliance and ensure that all employees understand their responsibilities. • Identify areas where there is a high risk of noncompliance. The high-risk level may be due to the complexity or severity of the regulations, or due to current bad practices in the organization. Identifying risk is important to developing and setting priorities for improvement programs, including owner operator awareness programs, employee training, operational processes / best practices. ?? • Develop systems to monitor compliance, track behavior, identify noncompliance and provide reports for audit. • If a violation of a regulation occurs, the director is responsible for reporting the issue and disclosing it to company executives. The director should also investigate the cause of the violation and take remedial action to reduce the risk of further noncompliance. ? • Process miscellaneous projects and tasks as prescribed by the president as needed. Education Required: College degree preferred. Experience required: 10 years industry and or compliance experience required. Abilities Required: Excellent communication skills. Must have a working knowledge of all aspects of same day courier operations, state and federal regulations and legal matters related to the courier industry. Corporate office based position and must be able to travel when required. Must have excellent time management, decision-making, human relations, and organizational skills.
