Express Courier has an immediate full time opening for a Route Supervisor. Submit resume and salary requirement to memroutesup@expressdelivers.net. GENERAL SUMMARY: Oversees all scheduled activity, making sure all routes are efficiently covered on a day-to-day basis. Ensures quality care is provided to scheduled customers. Ensure that profit margins are kept at an acceptable level. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (The below listed duties are not all inclusive. This position must also perform other duties as assigned.): • Supervise and train all scheduling personnel. • Attend weekly branch supervisors meeting. • Ensure daily route coverage with correct vehicle type. • Evaluate and adjust routed activity on a daily basis to meet required service levels. • Work closely with Systems Control & Development Division (SCADD) to ensure costs are in line and are approved prior to updating scheduled tickets. • Communicate updated route changes to SCADD daily so changes to route database can be made. • Ensure owner operators have updated route sheets on a daily basis. • Manage owner operator non-availability requests to ensure adequate coverage on a daily basis and complete route coverage sheet for the following day. • Monitor next-flight-out financial work and communicate any problems with solutions to customers and branch personnel. • Collect, account for and file all completed route documentation as soon as available but no less than weekly. • Fulfill requested confirmations, route sheets, etc. to the customer. • Print out route check-in sheet for dispatch each night and ensure dispatch has access to updated route sheets. • Secure, assign and track keys and keycards for applicable customers. • Coordinate and assist with Fleet Ops Coordinator for owner operator training and enter training commission tickets. • Complete scheduled owner operator commission adjustments and send to the accounting department at the corporate office. • Manage additional projects and tasks as prescribed by the Branch or Regional Manager. • Work with SCADD to innovate new processes and procedures that increase efficiency, service levels and profitability. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Education Required: Logistics degree preferred. Experience Required: 3-5 years previous management experience required. Abilities Required: Must have strong organizational and time management skills; be able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously; be detail oriented; be an independent thinker, have professional demeanor with ability to negotiate with customers and owner operators; have the ability to supervise and lead department to accomplish set goals. Must be proficient in Excel and be able to learn additional applications as necessary. Will need to be analytical, flexible, a good communicator, team player, fast learner and able to retain large amounts of info.
